I’ve always wanted to know more about my 11th Great Grandfather John CRAM (About 1540 – 28 May 1599). I hope this will cover all CRAM, CRAMME, CRAMBE and VonCRAM. I know there are other cousins out there that I haven’t met or been in contact with. I hope to meet them and hope that we can help each other discover other relatives. Always interested in getting new data on my family. Please contact me if you do have some. Thank you.

Saturday Night Genealogy Fun - Why Do Genealogy?

Hey genealogy buffs - it's Saturday Night - time for more Genealogy Fun!

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to:

1) Think about the question: "Why do I pursue genealogy and family history research?"

2) Tell us about it on your own blog post, in a comment to this blog post, or in a comment on Facebook.

This question was prompted by a current ongoing discussion on the APG Public mailing List about celebrities and their relationship to royalty of famous historical persons. There are some excellent responses in this mailing list thread.

Here's why I pursue genealogy and family history research:

1) To find out more about my family and find out what place they held in history.

I've always been interested in history and think its important to find out how we fit into it. I like to find that hidden gem of what drove people to move, become missionaries, how the names carried through the years.
